Is one’s complexion based on past Karma? Why do some people who are doing sinful activities have a good complexion?

The complexion, is just one aspect of the past karma. And the definition of beauty is different in different times, places and circumstances.

So getting a beautiful body and face at a certain time and place when it is considered beautiful and it does give us some pleasure and enjoyment then it is a reaction of good karma.

Sometimes beauty can be a curse, say that a beautiful girl is kidnapped and sold in flesh trade and is treated miserably by lascivious people, then that beauty is a reaction of some bad karma.

Secondly, if one is beautiful but is in a poor state, then it is one aspect of karma that ticks good karma, but the poor state is a reaction of bad karma and so on.

Sometimes, someone might be beautiful due to past Karma, but due to some other bad past Karma, one might have no brains!

So the people who are doing sins now may end up being ugly looking in this life or the next depending when the Karmas attain fruition.

But we shouldn’t go around judging people by their looks, there is always more to people than their looks.

Good looks is just one aspect of Karma. There can be many other factors due to which that good looks can either make one happy or miserable.

But all in all, complexion is not the decisive factor to reach God, practicing bhakti diligently, and Associating with devotees and a sincere heart helps us reach God.
